STAFF TRAINING
Managing Resident Behavior and Minimizing Caregiver Stress

At Leader-Effect® Dynamics, LLC, we know that one of the most challenging aspects of providing care in long-term care settings is the stress caused by working with cognitively impaired residents and residents who present behavioral or emotional problems. We also know that individual staff members’ reactions to ‘caregiver-stress’ are often a key factor in critical management problems including:

•   Staff turnover and retention
•   Family and resident complaints
•   Citations
•   Administrator and D.O.N. stress

Leader-Effect Dynamics® programs provide direct-care staff with:

•   Knowledge of what to expect from residents with different types of cognitive impairment
•   A set of evidence-based skills to address problematic behaviors and facilitate cooperation with     care
•   A strategy for coping with the stress of working with difficult residents
•   A methodology for working as a team and resolving conflicts

Workshops
True-to-life CASE STUDIES are used during workshop sessions to illustrate concepts and skills in a manner easily understood by all staff.

Group Tele-Coaching
Since even the best workshops do not fully equip participants to deal effectively with the real problems they face on a daily basis, we offer post-workshop group coaching sessions, via teleconference, to guide and support staff as they apply what they learned to problems they are facing, right now.

Leadership Coaching
To further ensure the success of our programs and to address the need for leadership development programs rooted in long-term care issues and examples, we provide one-on-one and group coaching and consultation services to leadership staff, from shift supervisors to Directors of Nursing and Administrators. Leadership Development services are tailored to the needs of the situation and the strengths and challenges of each participant.
